I don't have enough words for Evelyn and Emmanuel. This wonderful couple wed at the Conrad Hotel in Washington, DC, a luxurious modern wedding venue with floor-to-ceiling windows and elegant ballrooms. The hotel is full of natural light, interesting architecture, and neutral colors (a photographer's dream).
My very first cherry blossom engagement session was with Evelyn and Emmanuel last spring, and right away, it was clear that this couple was special. They have a natural chemistry and when they are near each other, sparks fly. I spent the first part of the day in Evelyn's bridal suite, and she couldn't wait to see Emmanuel during their first look. As soon as they had their first look, it was like they could finally breathe.
Honoring their cultures, traditions, and loved ones was of high importance to this couple. They wove together Evelyn's Scottish heritage with Emmanuel's Ghanaian heritage with a unity ceremony, during which they literally tied the knot with a tartan and kente cloths. They found ways to honor family throughout their ceremony and reception in meaningful ways, and you could feel the love of their guests surrounding them all day.
In terms of design, this wedding was packed with florals in white and blush. Their reception featured tall centerpieces, cascades of flowers, and even a tree in the center of the bar. Featuring a monogrammed dance floor, romantic uplighting, and a live band, the reception could only be described as the party of the year.
Evelyn and Emmanuel danced the night away with their guests, who showered them with love (and rose petals). It is so exciting to be able to share some sneak peeks from their beautiful wedding day at the Conrad Hotel. The vendor team, especially The Event Group International, worked nonstop to bring this couple's vision to life, and were a joy to work with.
